The circular design of the building is accented by a curved water feature as well as solar panels on the roof. The water feature has been designed as a symbolic reflecting pool, evoking the Tâmega River that identifies this region and the fact that Chaves is one of the most important thermal areas in Portugal.

An Accent Wall Of Vertical Wood Helps To Accentuate The Feeling Of Height In This Bedroom

Architecture firm Taller David Dana has completed the interior of an apartment in Mexico City, and as part of the design, they created a bedroom with warm wood accents, hidden lighting, and various other built-in elements.

One of the key design choices was a large vertical wood slat accent wall that immediately adds a sense of warmth to the room and provides a backdrop for the bed. It’s complemented by low profile wood bedside tables, a black headboard, and hanging metallic pendant lights that act as bedside lamps.

Columns of vertical gardens have been combined with metallic strips to create eye-catching moments as people walk through the building. The rows of plants are divided by metallic rings that wrap around the column. These rings of different widths, help to hide the self irrigation and lighting system.

Condon Scott Architects has designed a modern house in Wanaka, New Zealand, that has views of the neighborhood, as well as the mountains and lake in the distance.

Located on an elevated wedge-shaped site in a relatively new subdivision, the Ruby Ridge House borders two suburban streets and has a simple, mono-pitched roof and curve-edged, cedar-clad exterior siding.

Board-form concrete contrasts with the wood, and both materials spill into the interiors, providing a visual consistency inside and out.

The living spaces are configured around courtyards that are sheltered, private, and flow seamlessly from the interiors, with the body of the house providing both a windbreak and a visual barrier.

24 Columns Were Transformed Into Vertical Gardens Inside This Office

24 Columns Were Transformed Into Vertical Gardens Inside This Office

As part of the design of the ‘Ohana Floor’ at the top of Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, Habitat Horticulture transformed 24 columns that surround the circular floor and created eye-catching vertical gardens.

Aiming to create a tropical atmosphere, the vertical gardens are 13 feet high and use approximately 25,000 plants to cover 3500 square feet of cylindrical space.

128 plant species were used to create the columns, including 48 different types of orchids that were sourced for their color. The plants used ensured that no two columns are alike.

Also included are edible herbs like mint, tarragon, basil, and dill, that are used in the restaurant located within the building.
