On the left, a covered patio is located off the kitchen, while the other side has a custom-designed bench that wraps around the corner.

A Geodesic Dome House In Massachusetts Was Given A Contemporary Interior Renovation

A Geodesic Dome House In Massachusetts Was Given A Contemporary Interior Renovation

Jess Cooney Interiors have given a 1980’s original Buckminster Fuller geodesic dome house on the shores of Lake Seneca in Becket, Massachusetts, a modern interior renovation.

The interior of the dome received a complete remodel, taking the house down to the studs as there were issues with heating and electrical, and it also had dark wood paneling throughout with wall to wall carpet.

The newly updated interior features radiant heat, bright white walls, and modern furnishings throughout. The fireplace, which sits next to a large section of windows, has a limestone surround topped with a custom oak mantel that complements the walnut stained hardwood flooring.

Before & After – A Mid Century Modern House Renovation In Arizona

Before & After – A Mid Century Modern House Renovation In Arizona

Architecture firm The Ranch Mine has renovated a mid-century modern house in Scottsdale, Arizona, for their clients who wanted an updated space for their growing family.

Originally built in 1961 by Allied Builders, the home had some issues – a failing plumbing system, poor grading and drainage that led to some rot in the structure, no insulation, limited storage, and a 90s renovation that had altered or removed most of the mid-century modern design features.

A mid-century modern house was renovated with modern finishes.

The 90s renovation removed the signature canted wood columns on the front of the home which Moss Custom Homes replaced with steel columns redesigned by the architects.

A mid-century modern house was renovated to include a new front porch with steel columns.

The renovation involved reworking the floor plan, as well as new windows that highlight the original post and beam structure.

There’s a sitting room with a small home office, that was once used as a games room.

A renovated games room transformed into a modern sitting room and home office.

In the living room, a plastered fireplace became the new focal point, while wood shelving on either side complements the walnut-wrapped beams.

Sliding glass doors replaced windows and opened the living room to covered patio and yard.
