IKEA is making it easier to grow your own leafy greens and herbs in your home, with the introduction of a new series named KRYDDA/VÄXER.
The hydroponic system lets you grow plants in water, without the use of soil.
The kit includes everything you need to get growing.
It comes with these little absorbent plugs that you soak in water.
When the plugs are soaking, you fill the growing tray up with water.
Then you add another tray on top, and transfer the plugs. Once the plugs are in place, you put your seeds in them.
Next, you cover them up and put them in the sunshine.
Watch the seeds start to grow!
When they’re big enough, you transfer them into little pots that you fill with pumice stones.
The little pots then get placed into another tray.
You then place the tray in the frame, and fill the tray with water.
The frame has a light in it to allow the plants to grow 24 hours a day.
Once the greens have grown to your desired size, they’re ready for harvesting.
